You just have to re-install programs that you have installed. For the reset it will wipe anything installed (not downloaded)Īll files you created will still be there. Even though that sounds like the worst option it might be the fastest way to accomplish it without the drivers. The last option, is what I did, which is to do a windows reset (not a full wipe).

Unless Microsoft publishes the drivers for download you can try three things, which is to find the registry that it is assigned to the hardware or perhaps someone can post a better way to find it (I am not that savvy with registry edit).

The second problem is once the partial install goes through you have to delete any instance of the install (good luck finding the registry key assigned to the install). You however get an incomplete installation. The problem is once the system identifies the device, regardless if the drivers are found, it finishes the installation. Microsoft is not releasing the drivers because they are pre built into the system. I called tech support and spent about an hour on the phone for nothing they could not help me. Did you plug the adapter in before you started up your PC? That is what I did. I just seen your post after I replied to another. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. EDIT: That's just basic Windows driver 101 tips.I already described in my first post that I did all of that. I will go ahead and check the guide you posted.
